I created a scholarship a few months ago to give back and mentor CS students from my alma mater, Wofford College. I thoroughly enjoyed chatting with all the applicants and doing things like resume reviews and going over career plans.

I'm thrilled to say that the 1st Annual Raju Patnam Computer Science Award winner is Audrey Wiseman. Audrey is currently a junior at Wofford, majoring in CS and minoring in accounting. Outside of class, she is a CS tutor and has been doing CS research for the University of Central Florida. If any recruiters or managers are looking for SWE interns this summer, please reach out to her.

If you couldn't tell from the award name, I created this scholarship in memory of my father, Raju Patnam, who passed away 2 years ago. One of the few things we agreed on is that continuous learning is important, no matter where you are in your career. I believe people should always strive to be smarter than they were the day before, and I love empowering others to do so.

I wanted to give a huge thank you to Jim Wiese and Charles Maresh for donating and advising me. The three of us pooled together $2,500 that was given to Audrey. I gave all applicants the option to opt-in for a free 1-year Medium Membership.
